HDV windows media file for computer playback Can't Post

Hi all,
I'm having trouble getting a clean file out of AVID Xpress ProHD for computer playback. The manual suggests outputting a Windows Media 9 file, but the result looks like crap (like it's overcompressed) even though I thought I chose options for best quality. Does anyone have any real world experience getting a file (Windows Media, AVI, Quicktime, whatever) from an HDV project on Avid Xpress Pro HD?

Thanks!

You want to use "WMV 9 HD", and is a fairly reliable codec. A true HD codec.

Hi,
There seems to be no way to select windows media hd in the Avid export, so I exported an m2t hdv file, and used Procoder to make a windows media hd file. That seemed to work great. Thanks for the suggestion, you pointed me in the right direction.

Ciao for now!
