Hi Def PC recommendation? Can't Post

I am sure there is a post somewhere, but I do need to replace/upgrade my PC and although I do not feel the need to jump into HD immediately I thought it would make sense to purchase a machine that will be capable of editing HD when the time comes. Can someone point me at the post or recommend the spec, brand, processor, RAM, Graphics card, hard drive size, monitor etc that I should be considering? I am using Vegas 6 currently which I believe can handle HD editing. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: [JamesFL] Hi Def PC recommendation? [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi James.. I am in a similar boat. I really want to try and edit in HDV and output HDV but I looks like it all comes at a price. My husband - the one that films has a valid point in that he says why spend the money now when you won't be doing any HDV full on projects for at least another year or so. If we wait and upgrade the computer at the right time we will probably spend the same amount of money but be getting the best of the best. I'm telling you this but I still want to upgrade if not to what I want below but something in between.

I am not using vegas 6 so i don't know what the specs are but I was looking at the following:

Gigabyte intel GA-965P DQ6
DDR2 2GB CORSAIR 800MHZ TWIN KIT OR Corsaif Domminator 1111mhz ram kit
Intel s775 core 2 extreme qx6700 quad core cpu
150gb raptor 10000rpm ata hdd
2 - 500 gb seagate 7200rpm ata hdd 24x7
2 - 750 gb seagate 7200rpm ata hdd 24x7
Not sure what video card as my editing program I use is DIFFICULT
Antec p180 case
tagan 1100 watt power supply
creative x-fi elite pro sound card
antec 120mm smartcool case fan
80mm fan

YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW THAT PRICE i WAS QUOTED!Shocked
