Joel & Scott: Panny HD info Can't Post

Here it is from Jan Crittenden's mouth:

"What the Panasonic folks said yesterday was that the camcorder would be under $10,000. Basically they said, under $10,000, 24P, DVCPROHD, DVCPRO50, DVCPRO."

This is based on a presentation that Panasonic made yesterday regarding HD directions. There is more info from Steve Mullen on the meeting at the HDV forum of the cow

It's looking good so far.

the cost is a bit prohibitive for our line of work, considering you need thousands of dollars in cards just to capture video...and even with the max 16gb, you can only capture 27 minutes of footage...if you can capture straight to harddrive or they come out with a tape based version,...it might be a nice higher end wedding camera to consider.
