Need HDV system recommendations Can't Post

So I wasn't planning on making the move to HDV until next year but one of our editing systems has decided to die a little earlier than planned ... so I need to buy another editing computer that will be good enough to edit HDV. For software, I plan on using Premiere Pro (which I already have), probably with Aspect HD.

Can anyone recommend a good PC to edit HDV with? Or a good turnkey provider to buy from? I've heard that the HP xw8200 is a good one, any confirmation of that?

I'd recommend either Velocity Micro or Colfax International. We've purchased 10 machines recently, a mix from both resellers. Velocity just barely beats Colfax for service and price.

We bought a mix of Intel and AMD X2 4400+ machines. The 4400+ kick the butt of the Intels, hands down. (P4 3.8)\

No way, no how, would I recommend any HP, Compaq, or other "shelf" computer. Too much junk on them. At Velocity and Colfax, they KNOW how to build vid machines from the OS on up.

DSE: comparing an X2 dual core processor to a P4 single core doesn't make much sense; a more relevant comparison would be the X2 4400 versus the Pentium D 840. Any experience with that comparison?
