1. You don't need a focus puller accessory unless you are doing a lot of cinematic style shooting and have the camera fully supported on a tripod, dolly, or crane. 2. Why buy a $6,000 camera and stick it on a $10 piece of pipe? That thing isn't even a stabilizer, it's just a weighted monopod. It has no gimbal. I recommend a good tripod and fluid head, and a monopod for when you need more mobility. If you really need steady moving camera shots, take a look at some of the vest-supported rigs from Glidecam, Steadicam, Varizoom and others. 3. On-camera mics are overrated. Figure out a way to get the mic element right up close to the source of the audio...anything from a boom pole and an audio assistant to a wireless mic or an iRiver MP3 recorder. Even so, you WILL need an on-camera mic for this cam...the reports I've seen indicate the stock unit tends to pick up motor and handling noise. Look at isolation mounts; the best are sold by Lightwave Systems, but they're pricey. The Sennheiser ME-66 is a popular short shotgun, but there are many other good choices. 4. On-camera lights are overrated. The light, striking the subject straight on, tends to flatten features. Get the instructional DVD set "Digital Lighting Magic" from http://www.elitevideo.com for some good lighting ideas, many of them low-budget. Even so, having an on-camera light for emergencies is a good idea. Take a look at the little 20W unit sold by NRG, or for a bit more versatility, the Frezzi mini-fill. You'll also need a battery belt or something similar to power the light. Regards, Doug Graham Panda Productions
