New Training DVD for Sony HDV Camcorders FX1 / Z1U - Any one seen it? Can't Post

Has anyone purchased this new training DVD:

http://www.hdvguides.com

The trailer looks excellent, very nicely produced, perhaps someone could post a review.
It's a bit pricey, but I guess if you can afford to buy the camera, you can afford to buy the training DVD!

I'm very impressed. Thorough and detailed coverage of the camera, well worth the money. The presenter is excellent.

Hedley,

How are you using the HDV camera out of interest? Do you own the FX1 or Z1? Personally I am doing some corporate jobs and a few weddings with it. Does the DVD explain any shooting tips or techniques using these cameras?

I'm shooting HDV and downconverting to DV for edit (until prices drop on edit solutions). I've just shot my first wedding with the Z1 today - great camera to work with coming from a VX2000 and PD170.

As for the DVD - there is a good amount of detail on the website, all I can add is that the DVD has helped me a great deal in getting more out of the camera in a short time.

So are you keeping an HDV version of the weddings for future resale to the client, or are you downconverting from the camera prior to the edit?

I'm downconverting the rushes prior to the DV edit, retaining the HDV tapes for a re-edit in the future when the customer has high def TV/DVD (and I can afford the PC upgrade Smile).
