RiData Blu-ray Disk Can't Post

Is anyone familiarwith the RiData Blu-ray disk? NewEgg is selling a 25 pack for $199 and was wondering if they are worth buying.

Thanks,

Joe

Not sure about the RiData brand. I used them for a while in regular DVDs and they were ok. With bluray being so new I want to be sure of the quality initially for the early adopters. I have been sticking with Verbatims that I found for about $11 each. However RiData for $4 is pretty enticing. I had seen them previously at mwave for $7.99 each and almost tried a few.

If you decide to take the jump and try a few let us all know how they are. I am curious. The price is certainly right.

Well, I bought a pack and gave them a try. So far all has gone well. I haven't burned any coasters and the media has played on all the players that I tried it on. The only thing I don't like about them is that it as a 40mm center so you can't print the entire face.

I finally tried an order of 10 as well. I have only burned a few but all is ok so far. I like disc that allow printing all the way to the hub but honestly I don't let it bother me much in my purchases. I don't think customers care whether it prints all the way to the hub or not. The fact we have the ability to print right on the disc impresses most of them. I think we sometimes try too hard to wow with them with stuff other than our work.

I bought the non printable ones to try out before getting a 25 pack of printables. Once printable versions are more readily available then printed BD-Rs will be expected. For now and the next few months the fact we are giving them a bluray disc is impressive. A year from now that may be all different.

Blu-ray is such a reliable technology. I have never produced a coaster. Professional Blu-ray and burnable Blu-ray were created at the same time. DVD can't say that. DVD-/+R's were created after DVD were sold.

So far that has been my experience as well. I haven't burned a boatload of bluray discs yet but the ones I have worked flawlessly everytime....well except for the ones I screwed up by missing something in the edit but that was my fault and not the disc. Mad I have probably burned 30-40 so far.

I have found that teh problems I ahd with RIDATA disks weren't producing coasters.

It was the information holding up over time. most of the RIDATA DVD's that I encoded in the past went bad in 3-4 years or so.
Switched to the TAIO DVD's and all were better.
