Sony DR60 HDD Review Can't Post

I got my DR60 last week. M2T files? That's ridiculous? When recording in HDV, you cannot bring the m2t files it creates directly into FCP. They have to be converted with a program like Streamclip

So much for a fast capture on Same Day Edit day! Unsure

Other than that, it's great! Maybe an update in FCP? Actually it would be better if Sony would do a firmware update to record to a format that FCP already understand.

.m2t is the standard format for a native HDV transport stream. Does FCP not recognize it?

"....With native support for virtually any format, Final Cut Pro lets you edit everything from DV, IMX and uncompressed SD to HDV, XDCAM HD, DVCPRO HD, and uncompressed HD. Unlike other solutions, Final Cut Pro acquires HDV media and keeps it in the original format, with no generation loss..."

Nope - it's a known problem as far as I can tell.

Re: [Dave Williams] Sony DR60 HDD Review [In reply to] Can't Post

as desireable as the Sony unit is, considering it's form factor and
L battery use, this erases it from my shopping list, until an FCP
update or firmware update solves this problem.
