- to Protect the lens should I get jut a regualr UV filter or while at it look at the polirize filters too?

Re: [eeha] accesories for the Z1 [In reply to] Can't Post

If you are familiar with the PD-150, you'll be very pleased with the Z1U.

I think most all the items you listed should work very well. I have different brand items that are comparable, e.g., AT and Sony wireless models, Arri D1 light kit, etc.

One area you did not list that you might save is the wide angle lens. I have two for my PD-150 and VX2100, but don't see the need for the Z1 (yet). I have a polarizing Tiffen filter but no UV filter yet. I often switch the "shutters" close on the lens to keep it protected when moving locations.

I have several tripods, a glidecam, and a monopod. The monopod recommendation will depend on you tripod for compatibility it you want to use the same camera sliding plate. I use all including handheld, but I may buy the shoulder mount. With batteries, mikes, and lights, the shoulder mount would work well, I believe. I have only used one at a show with this camera; it slides and folds back out of the way.

I would rent the cranes when you need them before you buy. If you were to do a bunch of music videos you might need to buy, but for most events, this might be overkill.
