are the 3rd party batteries ok for the z1 or should i spent money on the reall sony batteries? what is the difference?>

REAL from B&H. Its not worth buying the off brands for the small amount you would save. They never give accurate battery life and are unpredictable.

For what its worth the Hahnel battery that I have been using Ok on a PD170 and VX2000 was not recognised by the Z1 - I would stick to Sony batteries.
