camera suggestions? Can't Post

although biz is way down, we do need to buy 2 cameras this year. We have been using the VX2000 for many years..

what is the "camera of choice" right now in the price range...($3500 or less)..we know its has to be HD as well as SD

but honestly...my clients care about 16x9 format..

so any ideas? even a recent model is fine ..does not have to be the latest model...and tape is still fine..just need to be practical

BTW,,,its OK to tell me that I'm crazy...I can take it.
Thanks

Did you end up getting some cameras? I'm looking for some in the same price range but am concerned about low light problems.

I got the FX1000. I switched from the PD170 and I like most features of the FX1000 better. It is about 3db less sensitive, which for us just means that we use the full 20W on our Sony 10/20 instead of 10W. It has a very nice picture, is so wide you'll never need a wide angle lens AND has a 20x zoom. The other cam that I would look at in this price range is the Panny HMC150. It records to SDHC cards so picture quality is actually better than the Sony. It is quite wide but only has a 12x zoom. The problem for us was storage- you'll need LOTS of hard drives- and editing. Since it records in AVCHD format it requires mucho horsepower to edit AND a state of the art editing system - Edius 5/ Premiere CS4/ Vegas 7 (or is it 8)/.
AND, of course, the Panny does NOT have LANC- you need a Panny proprietary remote. ka ching!
Hope that helps.

I LOVE my Sony Z5Us because they recored to tape and compact flash via the extra unit on the back. Great picture also!
