hdv converted to sd dvd Can't Post

I own a dsr300, can anyone tell me if video shot on a canon hdv or jvc hdv looks better downconverted to SD dvd when say a dsr300 or pd170 in day light on DVD

I know when I had my vx1000 the image looked better then my single chip HI8

The best thing about shooting in HDV is that you can make really nice widescreen DVDs, something you can't do so well from most DV cameras (because they don't have widescreen sensors). If your intended output is 4:3 DVDs then it's more debatable whether HDV helps compared to cameras like the ones you mentioned, but some people think so.
