24p doesn't need any rendering?? Can't Post

Am I going nuts? I just took my first 24p footage, brought it into fcp and it doesn't require any rendering, even for slo motion? Anyone know about this?

I never have to render anything when it first comes in. Slo-mo will decreae the frame rate but with Unlimited RT it should play fine.

Ok I am wide awake now and I swear that I have not had to do any rendering with the 24p footage.

Ditto what Ken said. Add some color correction, transitions, filters to it and you'll see some rendering.

Yes but normally I have to render when changing the speed.

I know yesterday I did a short clip of footage for our new grand daughter with some Sapphire filters and it took forever to render.

Bruce, when you slow a clip down it should play back fine, but at a reduced frame rate. If it needs to be rendered you may not have RT Extreme turned on.
