Advice-whattobuy-G3/video capture? Can't Post

I'd like to buy a middle range budget editing video capture card(not more than $2000-i.e. Miro DC30/Aurora whatchamacallit). My question is, what capture card should I get if I want a dual monitor setup (2nd one could be a TV monitor) AND analog capture ability (not just DV) ? Nothing too lowend like the Buz please.
Also, G3 or PC?
Thanks much.

Re: Advice-whattobuy-G3/video capture? Can't Post

I have EditDV on a Mac G3 and have been very happy with it. It
does support dual monitors, but to bring in analog I first
transfer the footage to DV using my Sony DHR 1000. WIth Edit DV
you need a DV deck or camera to see your footage on a video
monitor. EditDV includes the capture card and software and is
under $1000. It's a great mid price system.
The other one to think about is Final Cut Pro with one of the
newer G3's that includes the Firewire Card. I'm not sure if it
supports dual monitors, but believe it does. Final Cut Pro
does, however, support analog input with another card. For
more info on FCP see our Tutorial CD-ROM at

Neither of these choices is low end and I don't believe you
can go wrong with either.
Hope this helps
Hal
