Apple ProRes & The Black Magic Intensity Card Can't Post

I was reading the FCP Help document on HD and Broadcast Formats where it talks about the advantages and disadvantages of transcoded HDV editing workflow. It states: When you edit using footage encoded with the Apple Intermediate Codec or Apple ProRes 422 codec, you can edit just as you would with any other I-frame-only encoded footage, such as DV or uncompressed video. The disadvantage of this workflow is that more scratch disk capacity is required for your footage, and you cannot output HDV to tape without first reencoding your entire sequence back to native HDV. If your sequence is long, the reencoding process can be time-consuming.

Okay, so I understand that a larger scratch disk is required for the capture, but I'm wondering it the other disadvantage is true with a system containing the Black Magic Intensity Card. Must you reencode an entire seuqence back to Native HDV before outputting back to tape? Can you not just connect the output of your Black Magic card to the HDMI plug on your camcorder and press record as you play your timeline?

And I have another question that the help text doesn't discuss (at least I haven't found any reference to it yet) Does it take longer to encode the ProRes when exporting to a QT File?

Oh wait, I just found this statement:

Steps for Transcoded HDV Editing
The transcoded HDV workflow is almost identical to the native HDV workflow except that the resulting media files are larger and conforming and rendering can take much longer.

In that case, maybe I want to forget using ProRes.
