Blu-Ray Encoding via Episode Can't Post

Episode now includes encoding for Blu-ray, has anyone used it? Also, does anyone use Encore for Mac? If so, I was wondering if Encore allowed you to create menus just like it does with regular DVD's?

Hi Ron,

As I mentioned in the other thread, I use Encore on the Mac. It does allow you to create menus for Blu-ray in exactly the same manner as for standard DVD. Newer Blu-Ray features, such as pop-up menus, are not yet supported.

Compressor 3.0.3 can encode for Blu-ray. Encore CS3 for the Mac has a bug that prevents button highlights (Adobe calls them subpictures) from functioning on burned disks, both Blu-ray & standard DVDs.

I've burned numerous DVDs and now one Blu-ray disc on my Mac using Encore. Button highlights have worked perfectly in every case. Could this have been a pre-update bug? Encore has been patched a few times since initial release.

What settings are you using in Compressor for Blu ray?

Start with one of the HD-DVD presets. In the Inspector, click on the Encoder tab. Click on the Stream Usage drop-down menu & select Blu-ray. That's it. BTW, if your program is 90 mins. or less, you can increase the bitrate to 34mbps for mpeg2 & about 20mbps for h.264.

Wow thanks Chuck. So this has been there since 3.03 then? I had no idea. Thanks so much for pointing this out.
