Books! Tutorials, actually. Can't Post

Hello all users of FCP 5 and DVDSP 4. I am looking for a good book or two about these programs, as I feel like I'm constantly running into surprises when working with these programs. I've tried to get through the manuels, but they're not as helpful as for example Ken Stone's webpage.

Specifically for FCP 5, I am never sure I have it set up properly, if I'm outputting the best quality, and generally I feel like I'm probably going about the whole editing very uneffeciently and that there must be shortcuts or better ways of doing it.

For DVDSP 4 I honestly have to admit I don't understand any of it. I played around a little with the program, but I barely know how to burn a basic DVD using it.

I was thinking about getting something like FCP for Dummies or so, but truth be told there are quite a few books out there about these programs, and I was wondering if any of you could recommend one over the other.

I Just started using final cut pro in December. I picked up the apple training series book by Diana Weynard and was very happy with it. Lots of little tips and tricks in that book. I don't think I would be as far along as I am without it.The apple training series book DVDSP 4 is also top notch. There are many books out there, but I don't think you can go wrong by using the apple training series.

I hear the ripple training is pretty good. Haven't used them so maybe someone else can chime in about them.

The Apple Training Series are indeed a good resource.

If you have "issues" with print media, Ripple Training offers some excellent tutorial DVDs. I bought Ripple tutorials for my wife who is very "hands on" in her learning methods, she loves them.

I have worked on a number of Ripple Training projects and can tell you that the material is well thought out and presented in a friendly and comprehensible manner. Steve Martin and his associates are all very capable. If you have any questions about Ripple materials, I encourage you to email or call Steve from the contact info on his web site. He's very easy to work with.

I"ve found Larry Jordan's Final Cut Pro 5 to be an invaluable resource!
