Can Mac users play Windows Media 9.0 video? Can't Post

I need a little help here from all you you Mac users. Can you not view or listen to audio and video files encoded for the Windows Media Player 9.0?

There is a java script on this page which is associated by the "Listen" icon. Clicking on it will playback an audio file encoded for WMV 9.0 This is the type of audio file I have on my blog except my link plays an hour long audio clip. Since it's a streaming clip, you should be able to advance to any part of the clip as desired, and you shouldn't have to wait long for it to start playing.

Lisa has been helping me test this link, but she says here Mac won't play windows streaming media properly, it has to download the entire file before it will start playing back. Well this defeats the whole purpose in using true streaming video/audio. She said there was a new player version to download for the Mac that is suppose to handle WMV 9.0 files.

Would you please check this link at the following web page and let my know what your results are? Thanks.

I know in flip4mac there is a setting to either stream or download the stream.....I am not in front of my mac at the moment, but that used to mess me up a lot. By Default flip4mac is set up to download the stream first. It is in the preferences pane.

Ron, I checked the preferances for Flip4Mac and see that it was set to open any file in a QT window automatically. That's probably why it wouldn't stream. I also looked on my drive and see that I already have the version 9 of WMV player. That's why it wouldn't let me install it yesterday.
I changed the settings on Flip4Mac and then clicked on your audio link on your blog and VOILA! it streams.

That's great news Lisa. That's the best news I've had in a long time.
