Canopus ADVC 100 in OS X Can't Post

Hello,
I have been using my ADVC 100 in OS 9.2.2 with Premiere 6.5. I'm trying to advance to FCE in OSX but my ADVC100 doesn't seem to want to come along. I like to send video thru it to my ntsc tv monitor but now my ADVC 100 won't send it. What do I do?
Thanks,
ChuckD

Is View>Video>Firewire selected at the output in FCE? Are you using the Print to Video command?

This isn't an issue with the ADVC-100 but with your FCE settings for Firewire export.

It is helpful to describe which version of OS X and FCE when posting a troubleshooting question.

ThomasG,
Thanks for the response. My Mac OS is 10.3 and my FCE is 1.0.1. When I go to view>video>firewire the choices are grayed out. I'm not allowed to choose.
Thanks again,
ChuckD

I found this on Apples FCE discussions forum. If it is grayed out then quit FCE connect and power on your Canopus ADVC and restart FCE.

Re: [ThomasG] Canopus ADVC 100 in OS X [In reply to] Can't Post

Thanks ThomasG,
Unplugging and replugging didn't do anything. I discovered that AP6.5 didn't output through my ADVC100 either. I then upgraded my OS to 10.4.3.. This was something I was going to have to do anyway. The ADVC still didn't output. I may abandon the unit.
I then upgraded FCE to FCE HD. I got a notice during install that I needed an " Accelerated Graphics Port" that was compatible with Quartz Extreme. My G3 B/W has been upgraded with a Zif G4 500mh, is there a graphics card that I can install that would make my computer compatible with Quartz Extreme?
Thanks,
ChuckD

"Quartz Extreme functionality is supported by the following video GPUs: NVIDIA GeForce2 MX and later, or any AGP-based ATI RADEON GPU. A minimum of 16MB VRAM is required."

So sayeth the Apple site...

Before you abandon the ADVC100 try exporting the video using Simple Video Out X. Click this link: http://digitalmedia.oreilly.com/...12/22/video_out.html

Also, I'm fairly certain there isn't a graphics card upgrade available for your Mac that will meet the FCE HD requirements. Yours is a PCI Mac and you'd need an AGP Mac at the least.

Thomas,
It looks like my hotrod G3 has come to the end of the road.
Best regards,
