Capturing stills with Media 100 Can't Post

I would like to know of a better way, other than scanning or recording as clips, to capture stills (photographs) using Media 100 with a Mac G4. I have considered purchasing a digital comera to shoot the pictures and save to the camera disk, and then import from the camera disk into Media 100. Does this work?
