Virus software running, not enough RAM, Energy Manager turned on, Firewall turned on, using System drive as scratch disk, etc. None of those should affect the transition encoding quality. Those are settings that can affect the dreaded 'can't submit batch' problem, but this pixelation is a completely different animal. I've used the data rate display on a standalone recorder to see if the data rate spikes abnormally during the bad transitions. It does go up, as it should, but not any differently, i.e. faster or higher, than Compressor 1.2.1, neither of which are any where near a number that would choke a DVD player.
