Creating Video CDs with my CD-R	Can't Post

I want to turn some home movies into a Video CD so my parents can watch them on their DVD player. I use Mac, have an older CD-R burner, and toast. Any advice on what other software, hardware I might need. Any advice from someone else who has done what I am trying to do?
