DVDSP Bloating file sizes Can't Post

Has anyone noticed that DVDSP is bloating file sizes? I have encoded an MPEG video in compressor and it is 4.2gig on my hard drive. When I import it into DVDSP 4.0.2 it says that it is 4.6gig. That is just the mpeg no audio or menus. After adding the audio and menus it says that I am at 4.9 gig. Is this a bug in the program?
Thanks

Probably not... There is an overhead in all authoring that has to be counted. Think if it as being like formatting a disk - you lose a small percentage in order to be able to look things up.

Really fancy menus and so forth can increase this overhead, but there is a base overhead of several hundred MB.

If you're not already using AC-3 encoding, start now. I'll reduce the overall file size dramatically.

If you're already using AC-3, recompress the video at a lower quality. I have a friend that got like 3 hours 40 minutes on a 4.7GB DVD using DVDSP, so all is not lost...

Thanks for your reply. I never noticed the increase in file sizes on previous versions of DVDSP, so I thought that it must be some kind of bug. Anyway re-encoding is exactly what I did so all was not lost, I was just curious if this was something new.
Thanks Again
