DVD Disks Can't Post

I have a Mac G4. I've always used DVD-R 4X DVDs to burn DVDs and copies. It seems like 4X DVDs are ard to come by. Can someone explain how 8X DVDs would work in my Mac? Would they record at 4X speed? Would I run into any problems? Thanks.

An 8X disc means that it can burn UP TO 8X. In a 4X burner, that's what it would burn at.

Until recently I had a G4 with a 4x burner and ran into the problem with the same concern. Rest assured 8x discs will burn fine in your 4x burner and that Lisa is correct, they will simply be limited to being burned at 4x rather 8x.
