DVD Player that outputs to firewire? Can't Post

Anyone know of any software that will act like a DVD player except output to firewire? Ideally, any video that will play on my mac can be output to my firewire while I continue to do other things.

My goal is that I have all my clips of different weddings / different samples stored on a hard drive and I can just call up any one, at will, for firewire output which I have connected to an ADVC100 and modulated to house channel 74.

It would look really cool in my new studio to have me sitting at my editing desk calling up video clips to play on my television in my client area.

Of course, you can do this just by opening the clips into a dummy project in FCP and playing the timeline, and it can be done in Motion2 as well.

There is probably a little shareware program that will also do this, but I don't have one.

yeah but that's too much work. I want something quick and simple. I should be able to open an app and say "Output this movie to firewire"
