DV camcorder Can't Post

I'm looking to buy a DV camcorder for under a $1000 for school. The Canon Ultura and Vistura look good. Digital Origin also has two pieces of software - IntroDV and EditDV that looks good. I would appreciate any help or comments on puchasing a DV camcorder and software for editing. Thanks

Re: DV camcorder Can't Post

Unless you need a full fledged professional editor get intro DV you will save money and it will have a easy learning curve. I use edit DV everyday but I'm all for a simpler program when it can be used. - Rob
I have 2 canon dv camera but not what you are looking at. Try to get a hands on with both of them. The progressive scan feature that some of them have is great for photos. Find out which one is the newest to be released.

Re: DV camcorder [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm in a similar search for DV camcorder/software. I believe IntroDV is Windows only, EditDV Unplugged is the less expensive Mac option. If I am deciphering the info at Digital Origin's web site properly, their capture utility, MotoDV will also be required to get the video into your Mac in QuickTime DV format. Good luck!
