Dropped Frames on Capture... somethings up. :( Can't Post

Alrighty... getting a little frustrated here.

I have a dual core G5 Power Mac with 2.5gb ram

I've been capturing fine upto about a week ago... then I started getting dropped frames. I figured it was my deck but it's not. I turned off the warning to continue capture even when frames are dropped... but now my captures are all screwed up and this needs to be fixed pronto.

The problem is on capture... FCP is stalling, dropping frames and screwing up.

I tried capturing a video in iMovie and it worked fine.
I reinstalled FCP and erased preferences multiple times... didn't do anything.
I defragmented my drive... didn't help
Tried a different deck... no difference
Recaptured old tapes that had previously been captured perfectly... same problem

What else can I do??

Thanks for your help!

If anyone needs to know why this is happening in the future it's because I'm running FCP4.5 with OS X Version 10.4.9. There is a bug.

The solution is to update to FCP5. Easy enough.

Cheers!
