Edit dv 15/Motodv 1.1.3 and Powerbook g3 with Firewire2go card Can't Post

I have a Mac Powerbook g3/333 with Newer technology's Firewire2go PCI-card. I also have Editdv 1.5 and Motodv 1.1.3 and a Sony Camcorder. Why cannot editdv or motodv find any firewire device. I read somewhere that these versions cannot handle other cards than their own (from Radius). Is this true? In that case, what type of software DO I need? I am a bit tired of buying new programs all the time.....

I have seen it done with a Canon camera at a convention. I would upgrade to 1.6 first. It's free and could contain a fix. If that doesn't work email Digital Origin directly and ask them. Here is the address of the east coast sales manager. His powerbook is set up with a firewire card for shows maybe he can give you a quick answer. (but upgrade first!)

Yes, Jeff Bierly was helpful to me too [In reply to] Can't Post

I can't answer your question, but I can tell you that
Jeff was very helpful to me when I had crashing problems
in the middle of a big job. He even managed to come to my home
when he was on his way to a meeting. I offered to pay him,
but he declined. Now that's customer service!
