FCP7 and Magic Bullet Looks Can't Post

Looking to upgrade to FCP7 (part of the new FCS). Wondering if my Magic Bullet Looks 1.1 will work? How about my Natress Film Effects? TIA

Re: [GmElliott] FCP7 and Magic Bullet Looks [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi again Glen:

Having no problems with Looks and SL Are you aware there is a free upgrade to 1.3.4 to download? I had no problems with SL before I upgraded from 1.1 and am having no issues with 1.3.4.

Are you using any of the Adobe CS3 apps?

Glenn no problems at all for me so fat with FCS3. But I am not running SL but Leopard 10.5.8.

All of my plugins work fine, MBL, Nattress. I did have to install the latest updates to FX Factory and Core Melt Plugins. BTW in case you haven't checked them out the CoreMelt plug ins rock.

Re: [MLiebergot] FCP7 and Magic Bullet Looks [In reply to] Can't Post

I was particularly concerned because I'm going to do an erase and install like I always do and start fresh. I may have to remove my blackmagic intensity card before I do all this. Though I can't remember if the install process was to install the hardware or software first.

Now I have to scrap up the cheddar for FCS3- though I do see that B&H sells it for $150 off Apple's price- not bad. Angelic

Hi Glen, There is also a new drive for the BM Intensity card, which requires Snow Leopard I might add.

Hey Ron do you have one of these cards too? If so do you recall what the install procedure was? Was it install the software THEN the hardware or the other way around??? Thanks!

Glen, It is the other way around. You install the card first and then install the software. As a matter of fact, the "Read Me" files that comes separate from the installation dmg tells you you remove the old software first using the "Uninstall DeckLink utility" included with the disk image. You'll find the link to this "Read Me" fils underneath the link to download the update itself, but here's what it says in a nutshell.

Installing Intensity Software

These drivers exclusively support Final Cut Pro 6.0.6, Final Cut Pro 7.0 and Premiere Pro CS3 v3.2 and are not tested with earlier versions of these applications. In Premiere Pro CS3, you will need to update to version 3.2 by selecting Help>Updates in Premiere Pro CS3.

The drivers install components in to applications including Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects. If you have installed the drivers prior to installing any of these applications, we recommend that you uninstall and reinstall the drivers. This will ensure that all relevant components are installed in their required locations.

To remove the Blackmagic software out of your system, simply run the “Uninstall DeckLink” utility which is included on the CD or disk image.

Here is the link to the download page.
