FCP help: viewer all white! Can't Post

I used started editing on the MacBook and snce I suck at it, I often toggle something I didn't mean to.
Just now I hit something and the viewer is completely white and when I scrub thru, it shows a little black "x" in the upper right corner. I cant figure out how to get the video to show. When I put it in the timeline it shows.
What did I do and how do I fix it!??!
Thanks
Kat

I'm not sure exactly what you're seeing, but a quick fix is to trash your preferences. This essentially returns FCP back to all the default settings:

Hey Kat,

The short cut is shift+W. I spent about 30 mins on it the first time I hit it. Glad you figured it out. You can customize the keyboard layout and remap that command. It is too close to shift+E for me!
