Frame-accurate MPEG editing Can't Post

FYI only (I have no question here).

Pixela is now selling its frame-accurate MPEG editing application - Capty MPEG Edit EX - outside of Japan. It sells for $50 as a download at http://www.pixela-1.com/capty_mpeg_edit_ex/. The way it does frame-accurate editing is after you select a GOP it uncompresses the frames in the GOP for you to select. The application also features an MPEG joiner and an AC-3 encoder. It saves either as a muxed MPEG or as separate streams. Toast 7 only would recognize the separate stream files.

Pixela also is selling the full version of CaptyDVD 2 authoring application at the pixela-1 site for $70. Previously this was only available outside of Japan when bundled with the LaCie Fast Coder. Bob Hudson has a nice review of CaptyDVD 2 at http://www.bobhudson.com/captydvd/index.html.

Anyone who has the LE version of CaptyDVD 2 can now download for free at pixela-1 the 20 additional motion menu templates that were not included in the LE version.

Lastly, Pixela has an application called PixeVRF Browser for $50 that extracts MPEGs from VR or video-mode DVDs, such as those recorded on a standalone DVD recorder or DVD camcorder. Toast 7 also does this and I find the PixeVRF Browser to be quirky. However, it is a usable option if your OS doesn't meet the minimum requirements for Toast 7.

The Pixela-1 site has a package deal of $130 for all three applications.

I have no stake in any of this. However I do have these applications and especially find Capty MPEG Edit EX to be worthwhile. CaptyDVD 2 also is good when using existing MPEGs and wanting to author a custom DVD with motion menus and accurately placed scene menus. Its slide show with sound capabilities seems good, too, as it provides an option to include picture titles that can be turned on or off via the DVD player's caption control. I haven't created one of these as yet to see it actually work.
