The Gateway build quality was kind of lame - ex. the cable management in back of the monitor, although it looks like it's a molded part of the support arm, is actually a plastic hoop attached with double-stick tape. I found this out after running several cables through it and having it pop right off. Like the Dell, the Gateway has a lot of inputs - DVI, Component, S-Video etc. DVDs played through the component input on the Gateway looked awful - much better on the Dell. The controls for the Gateway are on the side of the monitor as opposed the Dell's which are on the front and easier to access than the Gateway. I also like how Dell's color settings include a setting for Macs. The extra real estate you get from a 24" screen over a 21" doesn't hurt either.
