General Error in Timeline Playback Can't Post

It was playing just fine for days before, then all of a sudden one clip wont play and says general error. everything before and after the clip plays fine, but Im afraid the dreaded general error is going to spread.
How can I fix it? Everything I've read says trash prefrences, but I dont know what that means.
Thanks, Kat

That clip may have become corrupted. Some things to try: 1) Edit the sequence into a new sequence. 2) Edit the clip into a new sequence. 3) Re-capture the clip.

Download FCP Rescue, use it to tash your prefs, then restart. It'll fix that problem 9 out of 10 times.
