I'm with Renny in doubting that the problem is in FCP5. It's hard to diagnose much without info on your system, encoding methodology, error statements, etc. so the following comments are all general. Mixing audio bitrates in the FCP timeline is possible, but not too smart. It is a simple proposition to correct this disparity before the clips are imported into FCP. In the end, FCP should do this for you but it's just another thing to go wrong. Make sure that you mix down audio after rendering, then export. This can help even when you onlt have two channels. DVDSP does not support multiple audio bitrates in the same timeline. The preferred audio format for DVDSP is Dolby AC-3, AIFF requires several times more bandwidth and can affect playback compatibility. iDVD doesn't support primary MPEG-2 streams or AC-3 audio, so it is likely to show problems first. Neither DVDSP nor iDVD directly support reduced speed burning. Burning at 1-2X can cure many ills. Nothing in FCP, DVDSP, or iDVD can fix sub-standard media. If you're using cheap substrate, the probability of bad burns is high. Please post more info, especially your machine info and the comments in the DVDSP log. ______________________________________________________________ Currently on a loaded 2.5GHz G5 dualie/5GB/1TB internal RAID/dual 19" monitors.
