Hard Drive Problem Can't Post

I just discovered my WD Raid set internal hardrive has disappeared from my desktop and I can't recover it. I think a recent lightening storm may have fried it (not sure) - any suggestions to find out exactly what has happened?

I would guess the "WHAT" happened is not as important as the "WHAT NOW" Have you tried to see the drive in disk utilities?

Hi Lisa,
I am in the process of talking with Apple support now and will have to continue with their discussion tomorrow when I locate my start-up disc to check my hardware. Thank you for replying and I'll post what I find out tomorrow.

Re: [wayne s] Hard Drive Problem [In reply to] Can't Post

As it turns out, one of the set of three internal hard drives was bad and I replaced it. There is a process to go through to get it going again because the hard drives work in series. If one goes bad, they all can't work. All three hard drives are called "Striped" and the data has to be deleted on all three and then created from scratch. That is what I did and now my internal WD Raid Set is available again. Unfortunately, I lost the data that was stored on it. Sorry it took so long to post.
