Thanks for the opportunity to take a smoke break while I thought this one over... I've never had this happen to me but based on the data handling mechanisms (as I understand them) I'll guess that you're trying to reference footage that only exists in the timeline, making Motion's job difficult at the very least. When you re-link from within Motion, generally the only thing available is the unaltered source in Capture Scratch. I'm betting that your slo-mo footage hasn't been written out anywhere (this would be normal.) My general workflow for titling with Motion is to start with a sequence in Motion that is the approximate length I need, lay in the titles so the timing is more or less where I need it, save this work as a Motion project file (not a rendered output) and then import that clip into FCP. This establishes a source in my FCP project folder. From there, I load the motion clip into the timeline and composite it with the working footage. Anything that I need to adjust or change is done by using the "Open in Editor" with the Motion clip selected. From there, I can interactively edit the titles in Motion, save, and go back to FCP to work in the timeline. If I actually needed the video in Motion (and was willing to absorb the bandwidth demand it puts on the system) I'd probably write out a QT movie from the FCP timeline and link to that in Motion. I realize this probably isn't the most sophisticaled use of all the capabilities of Motion and FCP, but it pretty much always works and reduces the demands on Motion. Motion and Compressor are two apps I have a healthy respect for when it comes to how hard they use the system - either one will eat up huge amounts of resources when they get into the "heavy lifting." ______________________________________________________________ Currently on a loaded 2.5GHz G5 dualie/5GB/1TB internal RAID/dual 19" monitors.
