IS SONY MC1 CONVERTER GOOD ENOUGH FOR PROFESSIONAL USE? Can't Post

I'm considering what editing system to buy. I'm either going with a G4 (because of better upgradability) or a I-Mac graphite. I have Adobe 4.2, and need a cheap but professional system for
importing VHS footage and exporting VHS footage. I am highly thinking about the Sony DVMC converter, but I'm concerned whether it will export to a VCR in Broadcast quality (3:1). Would I need a video card or graphics card with it?
Your answers will be gladly appreciated.
Thanks!
Ryan
