I updated our G4 mac from 10.2 to 10.39 and we lost deck control on Final cut 3 Can't Post

Can someone give me some info on what i need to do to get deck control back after updating the G4 to OS 10.39

I don't recall anything basic to this upgrade that affect deck control.

Do you recognize other FW devices on the same FW port?

Do this:
Power up the attached deck and open the Apple System Profiler and look at the FireWire ports. If you see the deck (understand that full descriptors are rare, mine just shows up as a JVC something) then the problem is with FCP. If the device doesn't show up in ASP then the problem is more likely cabling or the device.

Post back with more detail on your environment and what you find in ASP.

It was working fine, no problem. We updated the OS and its not finding the Firewire I looked it up in the sytem profiler Firewire comes up with nothing. I know the cabeling is fine it works or it worked before.
