Looking to upgrade.. suggestions? Can't Post

I have an infomercial coming up that will give me enough to finally upgrade from my G4 iBook. Anything will seem fast at this point. I have FCStudio 5.1. I'd love to go all out and spend $5,000 on a 2.66 Mac Pro w/ a 23" monitor and 4GB o' RAM.

I'd also like to save some money this time around and get an iMac all tricked out for $3,500. I'd still have to have my Firewire drives daisy-chained, though, right? Any way to house them in a separate housing?

I'm also curious where to get some more new filters and transitions to spruce up a broadcast infomercial.

Suggestions?
Thanks.

Adam

Adam, have you thought about buying a refurbished unit? You can buy refurbs directly from Apple. I would think that you could pick up a Dual G5 for a decent price. I've purchased a couple of machines from Power Max and had a great experience. They carry used, refurbished, new old stock, and new systems. It might be worth your time to talk to them about your needs and price range and see what they can do for you.

Boris makes some great plugins. Here are some other suggestions:
Joes Filters
CHV
Nattress
Here's a list of FREE plugins

Not sure what you are asking about the firewire drives?

Good suggestion! I might start noodling on the idea a bit myself.
