Hi, I have both and there really isn't a difference in the 'snappiness' of the timeline. There are some tests that show its just as fast editing and encoding. The main problem I have is that the MacBook won't work with some filters, like Magic Bullet. The graphics card is below their minimum requirements. Motion works on a MacBook but its really sluggish because of the graphics card too.
Any recommendations? What do you use? Can the regular MacBook work Final Cut Studio well enough? Waht are the differences, aside from the screen size and processor speed? Because it seems like everythign else can be upgraded, such as the memory and the hard drive. It just seems like the regular MacBook would be more economical for being able to do the same thing.
