Motion 3 vs. After Affects. What say you? Can't Post

I just watched the Motion 3 demo. Looks pretty hot. I love the 3D features. Anyone out there know Motion 3 and AE well enough to compare the two?

I have installed Motion 3, but haven't had the time to check out the new features. From what I see however, Motion (especially if you combine it with Color), is getting very close to After Effect's capabilities. 3D, Smoothcam, and motion tracking are all features that AE has that were missing in older versions of Motion. The main advantage in using Motion over After Effects has always been integration with other FCS apps. I am already modifying titles and lower thirds directly in Final Cut Pro now. I can see myself using After Effects rarely in the future as Motion can do almost anything that once required AE, but with full Final Cut Studio integration.

I don't know AE well enough to really compare them but in learning how to do a 3d photomontage in AE, it looked like a fairly time consuming process even when you learned how it all worked (which is also what I have heard from tothers). Within 15 minutes of trying motion 3 for the first time, I had a pretty cool 3d photomontage ready to go. I would think overall AE would be more flexible but motion is probably much faster for most simpler things.

From what little I know of AE, I don't think that it's learning curve is any less steep.
