I saw some recommendations for the high-end software, but from your post it sounds like you'd like to dabble, rather than go professional. That given, you might want to take a look at EditDV Unplugged from Digital Origin [www.digitalorigin.com], which supports the B&W G3, and is available on their website for 30 day free trial (which I am in day 2 of, so I don't have much objective evaluation...). It can be bought online for $129, rather than the $500-$999 that the others cost... -J
