Need a MacBook, when are new models coming out?	Can't Post

I was hoping to see bumps in the MacBook line this month but I don't know if thats going to happen. Anybody have any insight as to when we will see an update to the MacBook line?

Didn't they just release the new ones? Usually the big announcements come from Mac World which I think is in Dec/Jan and July?

Yeah I actually was looking at that page too, and like you said it doesn't help too much! This page only says when the first one was released and then says that it hasn't been discontinued yet:

I don't think you'll see a bump in the Macbook spec until Macworld next year at the earliest. Putting a Core2 Duo in the Macbook Pro widens the gap bwteen the two and I think Apple will only update the Macbook when they can do so without narrowing that gap again.

Which is a shame because I was hoping ot buy a Core 2 macbook but I'm going for an 17" iMac instead.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the new core 2 MBP late last tuesday night (the day they were released) Should be here by friday! Yipee! My iBook took a dump so I'm parting it out on eBay as soon as I get pics taken of it. The Core 2 is going to be a screamer I think. I got the bigger 160 gig drive too. 2 gig of ram is going to be awesome too. Faster superdrive 6x and it does DL if I ever buy some of those. Looks to be a great machine.

Sounds like you've got a great system on it's way. I'm jealous :-/

I went with the 17" iMac in the end because it's essentially a desktop equivalent of the Macbook Pro for the price of a Macbook. I figure it'll be semi-portable so it's not a bad compromise.

I definetly will enjoy it! The iMac would be a nice machine too. May get one for my daughter next year sometime. Like you said, it is semi mobile, would probably make a good SDE machine.
