Need some sound advice...no pun intended Can't Post

hey all, here is the scenario. I was messing around with my GL2 setings and inadvertantly changed the audio to 12 bit. My last shoot was a sports video so no major deal in losing the sound, but when I capture to FCP, I get a pop up message saying the caprure settigns and the tape are at different bitrates. It still captures, but my vid & aud in FCP is now out of synch. I am assuming it is because of the bitrate difference.

is there an easy way to fix this? I have already corrected my camera settings to 16 bit for the future, but the tape is obviously already recorded in 12 bit

One thing you could do is export the audio track by itself. Convert it with QTPro or Amadeus II or something to 48Khz, 16-bit. It's actually that your went to 32Khz, not so much that it was 12-bit, that throws it out of sync. Another option is to capture the tape over again, but creat a capture pre-set that is set to 32Khz, 12-bit sound. But if you're mixing this with other footage that is already 48Khz, you'll have to convert the audio portion to the proper sample rate.
