New MAC and Bootcamp questions

Can't Post

I am looking to make the jump from PC to MAC (Quad core 2.66), but need to bridge the gap a little bit in regards to NLE's (currently Sony Vegas, switch to FCP), so I need to rn Bootcamp on the MAC. When I order my MAC from MacMall online, it asks me to select my partitioning for both Windows and Mac OS. My hard drive will be 250GB, with an additional 500GB drive (more to come later). How much should I partition XP for when running Vegas and Soundforge 9? I know the minimum is 5GB. But does my partition only needed for running XP and the selected programs? So can I just alot 50-100GB to the XP partition and still be able to read and write to any of the internal drives? Or, do I have to have the alottled drive space put aside for both OS's/programs/storage? I would love to jump right into a 3.0 Quad or 8 core MAC. but they are just out of my reach. As I also need a new monitor (I have a great but old Mitsubishi 17 CRT). And also going to reinvest in external storage (removable drive SATA array) (I currently have 1TB external Raid0 FW800/USB2 drive. But it's formatted to PC NTFS). Michael Cameras: I do use them. Audio: Yes, it does come with audio if you like. Software: I am learning... Support: I need all that i can get. Computer: MAC BABY!
