PCI-card for expansion drive in G4? Can't Post

I've got a new 40 GB for my G4. I'm reading now about the need for a PCI-Card for this drive??? Can someone clue me in? Thanks!

depends on the type of Hard Drive Can't Post

If your G4 came with one ATA drive then you can stack one more ATA drive on top of it with no additional hardware. If you want to add a SCSI disk then you need to get a SCSI PCI card.
If your G4 came with a SCSI drive then you can add at least one more SCSI drive with no additional hardware.
This is all described in detail in your Set Up manual.
