Premiere Digital 8 Support Can't Post

I have a Sony DCR-TRV310 with an iMac DV. I recently acquired Premiere 5.1 with the DV control plug in. I can import footage into Premiere, but when I export, I get nothing. I thought the Digital 8 and DV formats shared compression protocols, and my camera's manual says you can even dub between the two. Any thoughts?

Re: Premiere Digital 8 Support Can't Post

Hello.
Digital 8 and DV formats are the same. Just a different size tape. The problem your having is apparently a common export problem that no-one seems capable of solving short of dumping Premiere and moving to Final Cut Pro. I just scoured the posts on this page and found several similar reports but no solutions. Good luck!

Adobe just released their 1.3 Beta Device Control Plugin. Make sure you have this. Also, if you are running OS9, get the 9.04 update from Apple. I've been using a TRV310 and a GL-1 with no problems.
If worse comes to worse, you can always play back from the timeline directly over firewire. Just manually hit record on your camera and start the playback in Premiere.
Good Luck!
