Question about PAL to NTSC in Final Cut Can't Post

I have a client who got married in Italy two months ago, and they want me to try and stylize their video that they got done out there, because they love my style and couldn't afford to fly me out there. Being shot in Italy, I am assuming that this MiniDV tape was shot in PAL format. I finally figured out how to get it into FInal Cut, but when I try to put slow motion on it, it has a stutter every second through these sections. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I think I figured it out. I was having problems viewing it on my monitor. But I do believe I got it now. Laugh

I saw your post and I have a similar problem. I have a dvd that is in Pal from a couple that had their wedding shot in Italy. When I play the dvd in the imac the picture is stretched. I have it in final cut and in a pal sequence but the picture in the viewer still looks stretched. Any thoughts on this. I would hate to edit it only to find out the picture is still wrong. Thanks in advanced.

I was able to export it from the PAL timeline into NTSC format using Quicktime Compression and that seemed to work for me.
