It's because your posts are deleted... Seriously, you're right that you shouldn't be seeing any significant delays. A 2GHz G5 dualie may no longer be "state of the art", but it's miles from slow or obsolete. I'm puzzled by "The beach ball spins and spins until I finally see the "choose" button." - Choose button? Are you capturing using the Log and Capture window in FCP? Clearly, I'd like you to post more specifics, but I can state categorically that if you're capturing from a deck or a decent camera using FCP's Log and Capture facility, the worst it should get is when the camera/deck is searching a specific timecode. Cameras can be pretty slow in this since they're not designed as transport decks. Other possibilities for a slow-down exist, and the list can get long, so please post more specif info on how you're set up, your hardware, OS level, etc. ______________________________________________________________ Currently on a loaded 2.5GHz G5 dualie/5GB/1TB internal RAID/dual 19" monitors.
