Sound Manager and Firewire output	Can't Post

I have a G4 running OS 9.04 with Firewire 2.33. I am using Adobe Premiere 5.1c with a Sony Media Converter. I have been successful with importing video and sound, but have only been able to export video, no sound.
I have the sound extention installed and I have the sound manager control panel. It shows that I have a DV in (for bringing the sound in from the firewire) but there is no DV out?
Are there special settings that I need for Premiere, or am I missing an extension?
Any help you could give me would be appreciated.
